Painter, graphic artist. Honoured Worker of Art of Ukraine (from 1970).
Born in October 8,1901 in the vil. of Ruska Lozova, now Kharkiv region -died in July
22,1996 in the city of Kharkiv. Graduated from Kharkiv Art Institute (1923-29), teachers
M.Sharonov, O.Kokel, S.Prokhorov. Member of Association of Contemporary Artists of
Ukraine, KhB UAU from 1938. Participant in Republicsn, All-Union and International
exhibitions from 1932. Personal exhibitions: Kharkiv - 1971,1997. Was a teacher at
KhAI-KhAII from 1929, Rector (1944-48), headed Department of Drawing (1948-60), Head of
Department of Painting (1960-91), professor (from 1960). |
