Painter, graphic artist. Born in March 13, 1880 in the vil. of Tarkhany,
Chuvashiya - died in February 4, 1956 in the city of Kharkiv. Studied at private studio of
O.Makovsky, Art School at the Academy of Arts (Petersburg, 1902-03), the Petersburg
Academy of Arts (1904-12), teachers Ya.Tsionhlinsky, V.Savinsky, D.Kardovsky. Member of
Association of Kharkiv Artists (1916-20), Association of Artists of Red Ukraine (1925-35),
KhB UAU from 1938. Participant in International (from 1913), All-Union, Republican (from
1928) exhibitions. Personal exhibition: Kharkiv - 1960. Headed Management of Regional
Military Komissariat (1920-s); was a teacher at KhAS (1916-21), KhAI (1921-36), professor
(from 1939). |
