  Painter. Born in November 20, 1870 in the vil. of Semenivka, now Chernihiv region - died in January 2,1947 in the city of Kharkiv. Studied at Kyiv Art School (1904-09), Moscow's K.Korovin School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1909-13). Member of Association of Artists of Red Ukraine from 1926. Was a teacher at Kyiv Art School (1915-25), Kyiv Art Institute (1925-32), Kharkiv Art Institute (1932-41), professor (from 1939).
