Kostrubon'ka and Kostrub are the goddess and the god of ancient Slavs. They were associated with fertility of soil. Every year Slavs made the straw scarecrow and burned it down for to get the good harvest. They consider the fruits of soil as revival of Kostrubon'ka. Compare with Demetra and his daughter Persephona of ancient Greeks. Maybe these goddesses origined later as a split of Kostrubon'ka's image."Kostrubon'ka's burial" tradition had been keeping in Ukraine till XX century.
