Sculptor. People's Artist of Ukraine (from 1964), Correspondent-Member of
the Academy of Arts of the USSR (from 1973). Born in July 31, 1919 in the vil. of Krasne,
now Kostroma region - died in March 9, 1992 in the city of Kharkiv. Graduated from Moscow
M. I. Kalinin Art Industrial School (1933-37), teachers S.Yevanhulov, B.Lanhe; Moscow
V.I.Surikov Art Institute (1937, 1941-44), teachers V.Domohatsky, L.Shervud, O.Matveyev;
Kyiv Art Institute (1944-45), teacher M.Helman. Member of KhB UAU from 1946. Participant
in Republican, Ail-Union and International exhibitions from 1947. Personal exhibition:
Kharkiv - 1957. Was a teacher at Lviv Arts and Crafts School (1946-47), Lviv Arts and
Crafts Institute (1947-56), KhSAI-KhAII (1956-66). Laureate of the State Prize of the USSR
(from 1952). |
